There are three main steps to rapid antigen testing.
The Test Taker checks in and a Test Kit is registered and assigned to the Test Taker.
A sample is collected from the Test Taker, applied to the cassette, and the timer is started.
The result is read and interpreted. The result is then recorded in the portal. The Test Champion isolates any positive students and sends them home.
In order to work as efficiently as possible, we recommend setting up the test site as stations. The Test Taker flows through Stations 1-3, and then awaits their result.
Tips & Tricks for Setting Up your Testing Location:
Choose a centralized testing site for follow-up testing. This space should have a single, controlled entry and a single, controlled exit point. Ensure there is a separate space where the collected tests can be read.
This should be located in a central location:
- Gym, cafeteria, library, office, etc.
- If opting for a drive-through model, ensure sufficient vehicle spacing. Schedule the follow up testing around pick up or drop off times (or on weekends if results come when students are not in school)
Finally, ensure there is a waiting area for students and staff to receive their results.
