A pool is how we test a group of people using one test.
The group is sometimes called a pool, a pooling group, or a pooling pod. These groups of people can be classrooms, cohorts, small groups, pods, teams, homerooms — any grouping that makes sense for your organization. The Test Champion or Test Supervisor is responsible for deciding who is part of each pool.
The group’s samples are mixed together to form a pooled sample, which is sometimes also referred to as a pool, and are then run using a single test.
Note: In North Carolina, the minimum is 5 swabs and maximum is 10 swabs per pooled tube.
