A pool is how we test a group of people using one test.
The group is sometimes called a pool, a pooling group, or a pooling pod. These groups of people can be classrooms, cohorts, small groups, pods, teams, homerooms — any grouping that makes sense for your organization. The Test Champion or Test Supervisor is responsible for deciding who is part of each pool.
The group’s samples are mixed together to form a pooled sample, which is sometimes also referred to as a pool, and are then run using a single test.
Currently, our minimum number for a pool is 5 swabs while the maximum is 10 or 25 swabs depending on if you are using our 10-swab maximum or 25-swab maximum pooled test. If you don't know which test you are using, please contact your organization.
