Taking biotin supplements matters in relation to AccessBio’s rapid antigen tests because high levels of biotin can skew results for antigen tests. False negatives for the AccessBio CareStart rapid antigen test may occur for test takers that currently take a daily dose of Biotin >10 mg. Biotin levels of 2.5 µg/mL have been demonstrated to result in false negative test results.
The health questionnaire question about Biotin only affects our AccessBio rapid antigen test offering. If you are a PCR saliva test taker or a pooled test taker, this question does not apply to you.
